Aimée Brill, MSW

Aimée Brill is a prominent maternal health advocate, facilitator, and consultant advancing equitable, person-centered perinatal care. As Co-Director of JustBirth Space, she works to bridge gaps in maternal healthcare by integrating perinatal mental health support and expanding access to culturally responsive care. With over 20 years of experience, including founding community-based doula initiatives and a mobile midwifery clinic in Uganda, Aimée brings a global and justice-rooted lens to her work. She holds an MSW from Rutgers University, with a focus on perinatal mental health.

Research Interests:

Aimée Brill’s research interests center on advancing maternal and perinatal health equity through the development of inclusive, person-centered care models. Her work emphasizes the integration of perinatal mental health support across pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, ensuring holistic care for birthing individuals. She is particularly interested in community-based maternal health initiatives, including doula programs and midwifery services, that improve access to care for underserved populations. Drawing from her global experience, including work with mobile midwifery clinics in Uganda, she brings a cross-cultural perspective to promoting culturally responsive care practices. Her research also explores the role of social work in maternal health, health systems strengthening and policy advocacy aimed at bridging gaps in care delivery. Overall, her focus is on creating sustainable, equitable and compassionate maternal healthcare systems that address both clinical and psychosocial needs.
